As I sit here looking, sipping my morning ritual french vanilla coffee, and look out at the beautiful 80 degree weather outside, I can’t help but feel a peace and calm come over me. Today is the day I’m initiating my new members into Alpha Phi, and there couldn’t have been a better day. My girls, all dressed in white, expectantly awaiting their future in aphi, with smiles as bright as the sun outside. We’ve come so far, and it has definitely been quite a journey. We bonded, laughed, worried, scrambled, played, and loved together. And now, as I get ready to send them off on their own, I feel like a mom saying goodbye to her kids at school, dropping them off and sending them on their way.

I’m confident in their strength, passion, and beauty. I know they will go far, and do wonderful things. I couldn’t be more proud.
